Rules of the Game
This automaton plays Three Fingers: each cell plays against its 4 neighbors, each cell "gets" one, two or three fingers, if the sum of the fingers is even, the even cell wins, if it is odd, the odd cell wins. If a cell's result is worse than its 4 nearby teammates, it will copy your strategy. Notice how a chaotic combination quickly turns into uniform areas. You can see how the Red strategy (play 2 fingers) expands between the Light Blue strategy, while the Dark Blue strategy "eats" the Red one.
At the beginning there are 2/3 strategies that play odd number of fingers. Can you guess how this ratio changes? Will it stabilize?
